DESCRIPTION:Bikes Together’s most popular\, comprehensive and fun bicycle mechanics series! Students of this 4-Part Mechanics Series will learn everything from general bicycle maintenance to in-depth mechanics\, and all about the internal workings of the systems of the bicycle. See our website for upcoming class dates and times: https://www.bikestogether.org/s/shop \nAll classes include hands-on practice and exploration with instruction from our talented\, knowledgeable and lovable instructors. Students will leave with increased confidence to use\, maintain and repair their own bikes — and the bikes of their friends and neighbors\, too — and get or stay connected with this welcoming and collaborative bicycle community in Denver. The series costs $300 per person\, scholarships available. We also offer GEM (Gender Equality Mechanics) classes\, specifically for folks who are marginalized by bike culture due to their gender (this includes women\, trans folks of all identities\, girls\, gender-non-conforming folks\, two spirit and femmes of all stripes). \n2 hours\, once a week for 4 weeks. 8 students max per series. No prior mechanical experience necessary! We provide tools\, supplies\, and bicycles for demo and practice. \nClass Topics:\nClass 1: Introductions\, Anatomy\, Fix A Flat and Tubeless tires\, ABCs of Bike Maintenance\nClass 2: Brake types\, including mechanical and hydraulic disc brakes*\, and Cables. *However\, we do not bleed brakes in this class.\nClass 3: Derailleurs\, Shifting and Chains\nClass 4: Ball Bearing Systems and Wheel Truing

DESCRIPTION:You Can Do It! \nHas your child been struggling to learn to ride a bike? Our effective gliding technique has most students riding within two hours! \nREGISTER HERE \nLocation and Time \nClass is held in a coned-off portion of Mike’s Bikes Highlands Ranch location parking lot at 2030 E County Line Rd. Class runs for two hours. \nAdditional Details \nThe lesson will be held rain or shine\, so please be sure to dress for the weather. We suggest wearing comfortable\, active clothing with layers and close-toed shoes. Please bring your own water and sunscreen. Restrooms available inside Mike’s Bikes. \nDon’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions between now and class time. Please contact our Education Manager Benedict Wright at benedict@bicyclecolorado.org or 720-504-3871. \nWe’re looking forward to getting you riding on two wheels very soon! \nRefund Policy \nPlease contact us at least 48 hours prior to the cancelled lesson in order for us to refund your full payment. If a cancellation is made within 48 hours of the lesson\, we will reimburse half the cost and rescheduling will require an additional tuition payment.
