A shorter course option will also be available\, and timed segments will ensure racing takes place only where it’s safe to do so. The race features two iconic climbs: Gold Camp Road\, a historic mining railroad bed through Cheyenne Canyon\, and Phantom Canyon Road\, a winding ascent to Victor\, Colorado\, with sweeping views and a mining legacy. Riders will also tackle a thrilling descent down Shelf Road\, famed for its rugged beauty. \nQueen of the canyons\nQueen of the Canyons\, a one-day\, 135-mile gravel race with 11\,000 feet of climbing. This breathtaking ride follows much of the Gold Belt Tour Scenic Byway\, taking riders from Colorado Springs through Cripple Creek\, Cañon City\, Victor\, and back. \nMini Majesty\nPrefer a shorter challenge? The Mini Majesty offers a scenic 65-mile out-and-back riding the entirety of Gold Camp Road.

For 2026\, we’re excited to introduce a new format – two separate one-day off-road adventures!\nThis year’s event will take place the second weekend in June (June 13–14\, 2026) and will feature two unforgettable days of riding\, both starting and finishing at the beautiful Penrose House in Colorado Springs. \nMarathon\nThis year’s APEX Mountain Bike Race is also the Colorado State Championships\, and we have the all-time classic Colorado Springs ride in store.\nStarting at the mouth of Cheyenne Canyon\, this ride will sort itself out on a climb up North Cheyenne Canyon Road before taking a hard left into the trails of Sweetwater Canyon. Built just a couple of years ago (with some seed money from the APEX)\, this section of singletrack climbs up to Gold Camp Road\, where riders will take a left through two old railroad tunnels on the way to Frosty Park\, just above 10\,000 feet.\nFrom there\, we will traverse north on Jones Park Trail\, only to drop 3700 feet in 12 miles on Captain Jack’s trail—one of the most famous trails in southern Colorado. You won’t forget this one! \nMini marathon\nThe shorter mountain bike course still gets to enjoy the amazing singletrack climb up into Sweetwater Canyon\, but then traverses over to Buckhorn climb before coming down the amazing descent of Lower Captain Jack’s.\nStill a tough ride\, but only about 15 miles of fun before getting back to the Penrose House.

DESCRIPTION:Inspire Juniors Rec MTB Summer Camps\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThese are camps that are a sampler of the Inspire Juniors Recreational Mountain Bike Program. We will be riding Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.\, exploring the trails in the Castle Rock area and learning basic mountain biking skills. We also teach trail etiquette and usage. Skills to be covered include beginning and advanced shifting and braking techniques\, body positioning and balance\, and turn management. \nThere will be two sessions\, one in June and one in July. \nRiders need a working mountain bike with gears and a bicycle helmet. Closed-toe shoes are required. Riders are required to bring their own hydration (water bottle) and provide a snack. Gloves and bike shorts are recommended. Sunscreen is advised.

Breckenridge Recreation continues to aspire to Westy’s goal: to create community through fun\, affordable\, well-organized athletic events. Racers must participate in 5 of 6 of the same courses (long\, short\, kids) to be eligible for the series overall winner. \nPLEASE NOTE: In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen trail conditions\, the race director reserves the right to delay\, cancel or reschedule the race. There are no refunds in the event of a race cancellation or change.

SUMMARY:Frying Pan Road Race
DESCRIPTION:Course Description: Both the short and long course share the same first 13 miles. From the start approximately 1.5 miles up Frying Pan Road from Basalt\, the course heads east up the Frying Pan Road past Ruedi Reservoir to the high point above the reservoir at mile marker 17. \n  \nShort Course: Short course categories will turn around at mile marker 17 (where indicated by a marker/Marshal) and reverse course to the finish line near mile marker 4 (about 2 miles up from the start line). Race distance for this group is about 28 miles. \n  \nLong Course: From the high point above the reservoir the long course categories will continue east on the Frying Pan Road to the Norrie Colony (about 25 miles from the start) where they will reverse course and ride to finish line near mile marker 4 (about 2 miles up from the start line). There will be a Marshal or marker at the turnaround point. For these three groups\, the race features approximately 48 miles of racing and 3\,000 feet of climbing.

DESCRIPTION:You Can Do It! \nHas your child been struggling to learn to ride a bike? Our effective gliding technique has most students riding within two hours! \nREGISTER HERE \nLesson Details \n\nBikes and helmets to borrow\, or bring your own. If you bring a bike\, depending on the size and style we may suggest you borrow one of ours for the class.\nFun\, safe and friendly environment\, with students of 5 years or older.\nTwo-hour lessons.\nSmall class size\, maximum of 8 students with at least two instructors.\nIf students would like to return for more practice\, return learners can join a second class for no additional fee. Email us afterwards to schedule that second class.\n\nLocation and Time \nClass is held at Arvada’s Bike Training Course located at Yarrow and 51st Ave. Class runs for two hours. \nWe suggest you park on the west side of the Costco lot (5195 Wadsworth Blvd) and walk west across Yarrow to Arvada’s Bike Training Course. If you bring a bike\, please be careful as there are many goathead weeds that can puncture tires. We promise the short trek to this fantastic facility is worth it! \n \nAdditional Details \nThe lesson will be held rain or shine\, so please be sure to dress for the weather. We suggest wearing comfortable\, active clothing with layers and close-toed shoes. Please bring your own water and sunscreen. Unfortunately\, there are no restrooms on site. \nDon’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions between now and class time.
