Bicycle Racing in Colorado
There are many different ways to race a bicycle in Colorado – we’ve got more than 400 events each year – including mountain bike cross country and enduro, gravel, gran fondos, BMX, criteriums, hill climbs, road races, time trials, cyclocross and TWO active velodromes for track racing. Some events are sanctioned by USA Cycling, the national governing body for the sport. These events require either an annual or one-day racing membership. Many events are non-sanctioned and do not require a special membership.

Bicycle Colorado and USA Cycling
Bicycle Colorado serves in the role of Local Association (LA) for the state of Colorado. In this capacity, we support USA Cycling sanctioned events, members, event directors and race officials.
As one of the leading Local Associations in the country, we are very pleased to continue our pioneering paired membership relationship between Bicycle Colorado and USA Cycling for 2024! Valid USA Cycling Race members are considered active ‘racing members’ in Bicycle Colorado, which means inclusion in communications, parties, State Championship events and Cup points competitions.
This membership model delivers immediate benefits to participants, who save money ($40 each year compared to past years in which the local association charged a separate membership fee) and time with this simplified one-stop shopping experience.
Go to USA Cycling to purchase your individual Race Membership. That’s all you have to do – USA Cycling will share relevant information with Bicycle Colorado.
Clubs and teams are not included in this paired membership model. Club Membership at Bicycle Colorado is $100 and provides clubs and teams with many great benefits. Please see our Clubs and Teams Page for more information.
USA Cycling Membership for Beginners
USA Cycling offers racing memberships, coaching, and national championships for all cycling disciplines, and is committed to engaging new riders. For 2024, USA Cycling has created a special discount for beginners!
