Back before gravel bikes were really a thing\, Kiefel and some friends set out on a 95-mile dirt-road adventure from Winter Park up into the high mountains on road bikes. Fast forward to 2025 and we’ve all become part of the exciting world of gravel. \nWinter Park\, Colorado has hundreds of miles of smooth and stunning gravel roads featuring beautiful wildflowers\, Aspen groves and babbling brooks. \nThe short course packs a perfect punch — 25 miles of rolling terrain\, flowing gravel\, and wide-open mountain views before looping back into town. Fast\, fun\, and scenic\, it’s the ideal mix of challenge and reward. \nLooking for more? The long course turns things up a notch — more miles\, more climbing\, and even bigger views. You’ll top out at 10\,500 feet after a 12-mile\, sustained climb that will test your legs and fill your lungs with that high-country air. It’s tough\, wild\, and absolutely unforgettable. \nTwo courses. One epic ride. 25 or 67 miles of pure Colorado challenge — climbs\, views\, and grit at 10\,500 feet. Awards will take place at Vicious Cycle Brewery in Fraser\, CO following the event. Please note that this is different than in years past. \nFrom junior riders up to professional racers\, we have a category that suits everyone – even if it’s your first race! We pride ourselves on offering a welcoming\, fun race series for anyone who wants to get out and ride. For the professional rider\, we offer a competitive professional rider purse for the top three men and top three women in each category. The Winter Park race series has included such legends as John Tomac\, Ned Overend\, Tinker Juarez\, Juli Furtado\, and David Wiens as well as the next generation of legends: Madigan Munro (Trek Factory Racing)\, Riley Amos (Trek Factory Racing)\, and Bjorn Riley (Trek Future Racing).

We pride ourselves on offering a welcoming\, fun race event for anyone who wants to get out and climb. Participate in an uphill bike race\, uphill run\, or double up and race in both events! The youth RUN category is for participants 16 and younger. \nThis race begins at the base of Winter Park Resort and takes you up to the top of Lunch Rock.\nPlease note that start times are subject to change. \nThis race is also part of TWO separate Winter Park summer series: The Winter Park Classics XC MTB race & the Winter Park Peak to Peak Summer Showdown. \nThe four part xc mountain bike race also includes the Point to Point\, Race Rendezvous\, and Tipperary Classic. The four part running race series includes two 10K races\, a 5K\, and a half marathon.
