In addition to our classes and clinics, Bicycle Colorado also offers a range of adaptable educational services designed to inspire and engage people of all ages in bicycling. Our programs include youth initiatives that teach bike safety and skills, group rides that promote community connection, and a variety of other services aimed at fostering a safer, more sustainable bicycling experience. With a focus on both fun and education, Bicycle Colorado is dedicated to making biking accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

A bicycle rodeo provides children with a safe space to practice essential bicycle skills for navigating their neighborhoods. Bicycle Colorado sets up and facilitates an outdoor rodeo with obstacles like a stop box, “rock” dodge, ride the line, cone weaving, and a snail race. Bicycle rodeos are a great addition to a community event or festival.

Feel safer and more confident when you ride to work or around your local streets. The workshops cover bike selection, clothing and gear, safety tips, laws/rules of the road, bike infrastructure, route-finding, and basic maintenance.

Bicycle Colorado will discuss safety and rules of the road before guiding a group ride to school, work, or around the neighborhood. Prior to the program, Bicycle Colorado can scout out the safest route and opportunities to highlight and practice safety, etiquette, and different types of infrastructure.

Presentations cover the benefits of using active transportation, rules of the road, signs and signals, how to check yourself before a ride, and how to perform a bike safety check. Students also have opportunities to share their knowledge and experiences and engage with each other and the educators.
While many adults fondly remember biking or walking to school, most kids today are driven everywhere, including to school. We want to ensure today’s kids have the opportunity to enjoy active transportation, so they can stay healthy, feel connected to their communities, and experience less traffic congestion and improved air quality around their schools. For years, Bicycle Colorado has supported Safe Routes to School programming, often offering a variety of educational initiatives to help make this possible.
Bicycle Colorado’s Bike School also offers more than the education opportunities listed above. We partner with communities across the state to deliver a wide range of programs that encourage bicycling, help people spend more time outdoors, and reduce car use.
