Working Together

Event Support Program

Since 1992, Bicycle Colorado has supported bike riders and events and advocated for better bike policies and infrastructure. Colorado offers a wide variety of high-quality competitive and non-competitive cycling events for people of all ages and abilities. We work to foster meaningful connections between events, cycling clubs, bicycle education initiatives, bike-friendly advocacy, and host communities, as well as collaborate with permitting agencies, CDOT, and law enforcement.

Bike Events For Everyone

Bicycle Colorado hosts a comprehensive event calendar to support the success of events across Colorado. Colorado offers a variety of bicycle racing events, with over 400 held each year. These include mountain bike cross country and enduro, gravel races, gran fondos, BMX, criteriums, hill climbs, road races, time trials, cyclocross, and track racing at two active velodromes.

Supporting Race Directors

Bicycle Colorado supports Event Directors and Promoters with event supplies, RaceDayReg on-site registration tool, data support, support with host communities and permitting agencies, insurance issues, and more.

Helping Events Thrive

Through our Event Support Program, Bicycle Colorado strengthens its outreach and connections within the Colorado cycling community, advancing the movement to enhance the safety, accessibility, and enjoyment of bicycling for all.

Serve as a convener and connector

Let’s strengthen relationships with host communities and local and state agencies so events can thrive for years to come. By showing the real economic and community impact of bike events, we can help towns see the value we bring. Together, we’ll advocate for fair permit terms and consistent law enforcement agreements that make it easier to keep events going strong.

Boost rider participation

We’re all about helping riders find their next adventure. A unified statewide event calendar and consistent promotion through newsletters and social media can help every event—big or small—reach more riders and grow participation across the board.

Enhance the rider experience and build community trust

Great events don’t just happen—they’re built through shared experience and collaboration. By promoting an industry code of ethics and best practices, and encouraging peer-to-peer connections among event directors, we can strengthen every event and make sure riders know they’re part of something organized, safe, and welcoming.

Create safe places to ride

Advocacy remains at the heart of what we do. We’ll continue working with local and state leaders to secure public funding for bike infrastructure, and push for laws and policies that prioritize the safety of everyone who rides. Because when Colorado riders feel safe and supported, the entire cycling community grows stronger.
