Tour Of The Moon

Tour of the Moon Ride Information
Tour of the Moon was made famous in the 1980s Coors Classic and later in the cycling movie American Flyers. Its legacy continues as one of the premier road cycling events in the western United States, which showcases the Colorado National Monument and its towering monoliths, sheer-walled red rock canyons, and panoramic views.
Courses
Tour of the Moon includes two courses, a 41-mile option and a 64-mile option.
All cyclists will start and finish at the Grand Junction Convention Center in downtown Grand Junction. The ride will begin with a spectacular trek through the Colorado National Monument. After exiting the Monument, riders may elect to tackle a metric century through the beautiful farm country and surrounding areas of Fruita, or hang a right and wind their way back to downtown by way of quaint country roads and a jaunt through the Redlands.
Registration
Tour of the Moon Registration is capped at 2,200 participants, so be sure to sign up early. A portion of registration fees supports One Riverfront and Bicycle Colorado. The Ride Collective’s Tour of the Moon ride has been a proud Champion Event Member of Bicycle Colorado, supporting advocacy work across Colorado for safer biking.
In addition to a great experience on your bike, each participant will receive:
- Commemorative Cycling Jersey or Tech Tee
- Entry into the Colorado National Monument
- Bike plate & bib
- Amply stocked aid stations with healthy and energizing refreshments
- Post-ride celebration to include lunch, beer garden, expo, and entertainment
- A chance to win valuable prizes
Tour of The Moon Post-Ride Celebration
Stick around after the Tour of the Moon ride for the Harvest Moon Celebration, complete with an expo, lunch, live entertainment, and beer garden. Check out the latest cycling gear, accessories, and nutrition products. You’ll find great bargains on apparel, equipment, and more. Inform your friends and family that the expo is also open during the ride itself, so while you are on the course, they can enjoy the exhibits.
Lunch is open to all Tour of the Moon participants. The tag off your bib is your lunch ticket, so please keep that intact until after lunch.
Extra tickets to the post-ride meal will also be available for friends and family. You may purchase them at the event or when you register online.
